Daytime Coverage staff manage essential RA duties during daytime hours, Monday through Friday and these staff can work around class schedules. Many RAs work in this position for extra pay and to gain experience in residential buildings across campus; however, students besides RAs also work in this capacity. Daytime Coverage staff complete regular building tours and handle on-the-spot emergencies, lockouts, room changes, and welfare checks.
Resident Directors (RDs) are typically graduate students who assist an Area Coordinator with the management of an area, as well as an assigned facility. They live within a residence hall and are the direct supervisors of the RAs. RDs provide guidance to both residents and student staff, assisting them to fulfill personal and professional goals. RD’s receive a monthly stipend, tuition waiver, and furnished living accommodations.
Area Coordinators are full-time professional staff who facilitate and assist in creating a community environment within the residential facilities that promotes and supports residents’ personal and academic success consistent with the mission and values of the University. It is a twelve month live-in position with a competitive salary, two-bedroom furnished apartment, including utilities, TV cable, data and local telephone service, and other state employee benefits.
