Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania Residence Life Office is a featured program.
Wool Bucks is a program initiative aimed at recognizing the students who come to our programs and support our staff members’ efforts.
For each program or event the student attends, they receive one “Wool Buck”, or ticket.
At the end of the semester, we had lots of fun prizes (a Kindle, gift certificate to our bookstore, gift cards to local stores, a finals study basket, etc.) that the students had the opportunity to win.
The week before the event, we put the tickets along with an invitation to come to the event in their mailboxes. We wound up getting more than half of our building at the event.
Keeping track of attendance points also helped us to get a better idea of which students we were serving. We found that more than 85% of our students had attended at least one event over the course of the semester and half of those had attended 9 or more events. It also helped us to realize that there were also students who we were not reaching and it gave the staff ideas and motivation to improve on this for next semester.
