Texas Christian University’s Department of Housing and Residence Life is a featured program.
TCU Housing believes in our hiring process and feel that we should “hire good people, then get out of the way.” By this we believe in our strategy of finding passionate individuals who have an ability to connect with others and a want to provide an experience like no other. A hand full of our current Hall Director staff did not have housing experience before be hired, but their passion and investment in students led us to believe they would succeed. Along with our Hall Directors, many of the members within the Associate and Assistant Director group have had experiences within student affairs outside of housing before coming back into the housing area.
TCU currently employs 13 full-time live-in Hall Directors (HD) who are responsible for supervising a building community ranging from 200-400 residents and 5-15 Resident Assistants. The HD will be a part of establishing goals and objectives for the department and the residence hall. The HD will be expected and encouraged to take initiatives that are consistent with the mission of the department. The position requires enthusiasm, strong work ethic and initiative while working collaboratively with others in the department and in the Division of Student Affairs.
