Department Organizational Structure
University Housing at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville is made up of three units: Central Housing Office, Residence Life and University Housing Facilities Management (UHFM). The three units are led by a Director of University Housing.
The Director of University Housing is responsible for the management, supervision, and operation of University Housing including fiscal, operations, services, and maintenance functions. The Director is the person directly responsible for monitoring and implementing the policies and procedures of University Housing.
The Associate Director of University Housing supervises the Central Housing Office staff which includes a Marketing Specialist, Assignments Coordinator, Wed Specialist, and Housing Representative. The Central Housing Office is responsible for the management of the resident application and space reservation processes, monitoring the collections/accounts receivable system, the enforcement of the terms and conditions of the housing contract, assignments, Web, and marketing.
The Associate Director of University Housing Facilities Management (UHFM) is responsible for the supervision of the University Housing Facilities Management staff, initiation of policies and procedures for the maintenance/cleaning of the facilities and grounds of University Housing, and the development of a preventive maintenance and long-term capital improvement program.
The Associate Director of Residence Life has full responsibility for developing and implementing the vision and direction of the residence life program. The Associate Director supervises all residence life staff, including 5 Assistant Directors, 6 Community Directors, and 6 Assistant Community Directors. Residence Life staff is responsible for effective daily operations for the development of housing communities that foster intellectual growth and development.
