Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania Residence Life Office is a featured program.
Description:
This activity was used during training. Workshops on ethics were presented. Participants had an opportunity to discuss ethics and what was ethical in the workplace.
Staff participated in this activity where they applied the information they learned in the workshops to the work ahead of them in their residence hall. They wrote a Golden Rule/Ethical Code as a team with their hall staff. They tried to answer the following questions as they developed their hall Golden Rule and Ethical Code:
1) What are we going to strive for ?
2) What’s our motivation for being the best staff?
The Golden Rule/Ethical Code was copied and put into the front of each RA’s notebook at the start of the year and in the hall office.
This can also be typed up and laminated on a card where student staff can put it in a significant place (mirror, wallet, purse, closet, back of phone etc.) to re-energize and guide them throughout the year.
