University of the Pacific, Housing & Greek Life is a featured program.
In 2014-15 University of the Pacific moved to a cohort housing model, to support students in their transition in, through, and out of the University. This change led to an adjustment in our existing programing model. Led by Associate Director for Residential Life, Dr. Dan Ocampo, the Residential Life area underwent a process of revamping and overhauling their programming model to develop a residential curriculum to support the shift to the cohort housing model.
The “Pacific Plan” is currently being utilized in all residential facilities except for Greek houses. The core philosophy of The Pacific Plan is to create systematic and intentional opportunities for staff to connect and engage with the students they serve. Each programmatic area has different efforts and action items that will help them support the students within their areas. Building on the intentional efforts to connect and engage individuals is the philosophy of supporting students in their transitions. With a cohort housing model, and a residential curriculum that supports it, we are better positioned to support students in their many varied transitions at Pacific.
