My second day into the job, and I was just calming down, the night was winding down and no one had seriously hurt themselves or anyone around them, and it looked as if everyone was basically sleeping. One of my girls came wandering out of her wing, looking really tired and sort of out-of-it. I asked her what had happened, expecting a noise complaint or something that I had been trained to deal with…I was ready for it. She looked at me and the other girls in the lounge and said: “my roommate just peed in my closet.” I looked at her in disbelief…I asked her if she was serious, and she looked at me and said “yeah, in one of my favorite shoes.” All of us couldn’t help but laugh, as this is not something you would normally encounter. I sat there thinking and nothing came to mind as to how to deal with it. The girl just told me she would deal with it, and I was grateful. At that moment in time, I realized that they could train you forever and you still wouldn’t be prepared for everything
