One night during the fall semester of my first year of being an RA, the fire alarms went off, (I can no longer remember why, as they have gone off plenty of times for various reasons in the years I’ve been here) but I remember that it was not a planned fire drill. I was the only RA in my hall at the time, so I quickly began to go down my hall knocking on doors, as I had two floors to clear alone. In the rush of everyone leaving I remember seeing one of the residents running out of his room with his comforter, I didn’t pay much attention to him since he was leaving the building and that was my goal at the moment. When we got outside, I saw him huddled with the other residents in the parking lot, wrapped in his comforter toga style. I went up to him and asked him why he was wearing his comforter. He told me that he liked to sleep au natural, and in his rush to get out, just wrapped himself in his comforter to cover up. Like I said I don’t remember why the alarms went off, but we were outside for a good while. During that time I explained to him the importance of having a bathrobe, as had the alarms gone off while he was in the shower; he might be in a towel!
