I am an RA of first-year women in a single sex dorm. With this being my second year, I noticed that many of my girls were excited to tell me about getting good grades on their tests, so I thought this was a great way to incorporate some passive programming into my hall.
I constructed a “Family Fridge,” a life-size fridge that now adorns the hallway; I constructed it out of white bulletin board paper, and black marker to draw the “Frigidaire’s” logo and a door handle. Now my girls post their A’s on the fridge, and the resident with the most A’s at the end of the semester gets a goodie bag, filled with pencils, sticky-notes, etc.
