One morning I was awoken by a ringing telephone. Normally, I do not pick up the phone at 8 a.m. but the second time the phone rang I thought it might be important. Turns out, it was security calling me up to tell me that I needed to go to the hospital.
Not knowing why, I jumped in the security vehicle at 8am and was driven to the Hospital. I was told that I was needed to identify a person whom they thought was one of my resident’s. The student was not conscious. It appeared that the student had been roaming the streets for some time in his bare feet. He had no identification on him and when found at 6 a.m. he was lying on the double yellow lines of a busy main road. It seemed as if he was attempting to commit suicide.
When I arrived at the hospital the student had come in and out of his state of consciousness and had already given his name. So…after all, I was not needed at 8 a.m. on a Friday morning!
