You Mean the World to Me

July 29, 2014 by reslife

Submitted by Misty Griffith, Eastern Washington University

This idea for door tags went along with a Recycling and Conservation theme: You Mean the World to Me. See the supply list below. I designed each foam sphere to look like half of a globe by strategically placing sequins to match water and land masses (not a perfect science….just blobs in similar shapes). Use the push pins and stick through the center of the sequin and then into the foam sphere to keep the sequins in place. Once this is finished, I used a black marker to write each person’s name……and then “You Mean the World To Me” on the blue construction paper (this serves as the background and a surface to hang up the door tag). Then, I used superglue to attach the completed sequin globes to the construction paper. Whala!

Supplies:
• 6 inch foam spheres (cut in half)

• blue and green sequins

• push pins (ones that have small flat heads so they are inconspicuous)

• superglue

• blue construction paper

• black marker
