Cans Film Festival

July 22, 2014 by reslife

Talk with one of your campus activity organizations that would deal with ordering movie projection reels or DVDs for mass viewings (you need specific permission to view the movie in a public forum). When you have about 6-8 movies picked out, you proceed to show those movies on a designated Saturday afternoon and evening in a designated month.

For entry, students bring a set number of food cans or money. Once students have”paid”, they are added to the entry list at the entrance and they can come and go throughout the day to see the movies that they want to see.

The canned food and money are donated to a charitable organization, and you now have a fun community service program.

You also have a flippin’ sweet way to catch some movies cheaply. The idea is to not stick to one genre, so get the funny films, the dramas, the action films, the artsy foreign films, documentaries, etc.
