What is Blackout Tennis, you may ask?
It’s playing tennis at night with glow-in-the-dark tennis balls and black lights. As a former tennis player, I wanted to host a program that would combine one of my favorite games and RA programming.
This event is pricey and takes time to plan. The glow-in-the-dark tennis balls have to be ordered in advance. If don’t have the time or the money to get glow-in-the-dark tennis balls, you can just turn on the lights of the courts and still play at night. You can also add designs on the courts with glow-in-the-dark chalk.
If your school’s tennis team uses the courts, ask the tennis coach for permission to use the courts first, especially if you add designs on the courts with glow-in-the-dark chalk. Also, check the weather before you plan this event.
