I planned a baby shower where everyone had to bring a gift. I made it known that the dollar store is the cheapest place to purchase baby items and most people went and bought more then one gift. I served refreshments and we had a cake, ice cream, small sandwiches, chips, pretzels, and soda…typical items for a baby shower. We then played games- including guess the flavor of baby food, find the pins in rice, and a cotton ball game. One of my residents actually came with a pillow under her shirt and we guessed how big her belly was with toilet paper. Our gifts – enough to fill 2 laundry baskets- were delivered/donated to a local maternity shelter where we visited for a little while.
