Description:
I find inspiration through quotes, so I thought it would be a good idea to pass along some inspiration to my staff members through creating quote door decorations. For creativity, I thought it would be good idea to use a variety of magazine letters/words to spell out the quotes making the door dec look like a ransom-letter. For the names, I cut out letters from a stencil pattern on neon color paper so it would stand out against the black paper. I received many compliments from students and colleagues because it was eye catching and educational at the same time.
I would recommend this door dec idea for individuals that have a small staff / resident group (possibly fewer than 10 people) because it can be time consuming depending on how you design your door dec and quotes used. I had to create 6 door decorations (5 staff members and 1 for myself) and that took approximately 2 weeks.
Supplies Used:
• Black cardstock paper (size: 12″ x 12″)
• Neon color paper [colors: pink, green, and yellow] (size: 8.5″ x 11″)
• 2″ Stencil (type: Spot letters)
• Scissors
• Glue
Example:
Quote – “Decide to be your best. In the long run the world is going to want and have the best, and that might as well be you.” – Booker T. Washington
