It was getting to the end of my last year as an RA and college, with me in the middle of my student teaching internship. It was a Saturday night and most people have gone out of the resident hall to party or do something. I was in my room, honestly watching youtube videos (dormlife was the video of choice that night). I got a call from one of my co-worker who was on duty. At my school, one RA most do rounds on the four floors of the building. She asked if I could help her do the two o’clock round which marks the end of the visitation hours (no opposite sex in the rooms). We get upstairs and hear loud music coming from a room. It was not too loud but loud enough that I should tell them to turn it down.
So me and two other RAs go up to the door and knock, announcing to the residents that we were campus living. Well, when the door opens, I hear “HEY…MR. NORRIS!” come out of the room. In the room, there was two of my students that I was teaching. Well, I told them to leave and go home…and on their way out I reminded them that they have a test on TUESDAY and needed to study hard, it was a tough one.
After we handle the other residents, we called the coordinator on call, which was our coordinator and told them the story…she busted out laughing. When my clinical teacher heard the story, she was rolling on the floor laughing…it made her Monday. On my last day of student teaching, the whole school knew and asked me if it really happened. All I have to say is that it is true and that I am MR. NORRIS
I can honestly tell you that the whole staff is still laughing and joking on me about busting my own students.
This was the funniest thing that has ever happened.
