In the spring semester of 2002, at La Salle University, the community development staff began “craft night”. Each month someone volunteers to host craft night. They choose the craft and then organize the night. They let everyone know what the craft will be and what night it will be, then get RSVPs. Once they have the number they go out and purchase the supplies and let everyone know how much it will cost. Sometimes the host provides refreshments and sometimes the host asks others to bring the snacks. Then on craft night the staff get together and learn how to make a new craft. Some examples done so far are: soap making, glass etching and cross-stitch.
