The program itself is easy to put together. All you need is a speaker from your school’s (or other location) counseling department to come in to speak to the group about depression. To advertise the program, create a note that is not addressed to anyone, which says something like:
I was wondering if you could meet with me in the lobby at 7:00 on ??/??/2003. I need someone to talk to. I feel so sad. I can’t eat, or study and I feel so tired all the time. I hope you will be there.
Make copies of the note and slide them under the resident’s doors. When the residents show up they will learn about depression from the speaker!
