My floor last year did a program called “Sex in an Envelope” with a male floor. Envelopes were made with male cards and female cards containing various messages of STD’s that they had “caught” as well as pregnancy cards in the female envelopes. There were also several safe cards. The girls were given male cards and the guys were given female cards (we didn’t take into consideration same sex relationships…an oversight that I would do differently if I do the program again). They were told to mingle about and when they felt ready, give a card (without reading it) to the person they were “having sex with”. They were given several minutes to do so. After, everyone sat in a circle and a few volunteered to read their cards out loud.
The point was to emphasize that sometimes casual sex can leave you “safe” but other times, STD’s and/or pregnancy can occur. A health expert answers questions and the point is driven home when everyone opens up their envelopes and sees what has happened to them!
This program takes a little prep time in making the cards.
Enjoy!
