University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Department of Residence Life is a featured program.
Our halls are staffed by our Master’s level Residence Hall Directors, as well as our graduate student Assistant Residence Hall Directors. In most halls, we have one Community Advisor (CA) per 30 residents. Three upper-class environments have a 1:60 ratio. In addition to CAs, our halls staff includes our Health Advocates (HA), who provide health education and basic medical care (pain reliever, bandages, cold medicine), as well as our Sustainability Advisors (SA), who educate our first year residents about recycling and other green living practices.
Our 102 CAs focus on developing a strong residence hall community. We utilize our MAP-Works and EBI data heavily in order to address needs of specific individuals and communities. Our central staff team is made up of a Director, five Assistant Directors, who focus on business services/programs, leadership/community development, conference services, staff and student development, and budgets/technology, and two coordinators, who are responsible for conduct and managing our Management Information Office.
